Beaudesert Scout and Guide Camp.
During the last week in July, the 10th Birkenhead Scout Group headed south, to Cannock Wood, and Beaudesert Scout and Guide Camp.
It’s the second time we’ve been there and, other than the games room being closed for conversion into a rifle range, it’s still the excellent camp we remember.
We took eight Scouts and twelve Cubs, one of whom was our guest from The 2nd Thingwall Scout Group. The Scouts had their day out in Alton Towers whilst the Cubs had a great day out at Twycross Zoo.
We would like to thank the Girls and Guiders from the 2nd Wellington Guides who to part in an impromptu water fight with our Cubs, then extended their welcome and allowed the Cubs to join them around their Altar Fire for a sing-song.
The Cubs entered a 5-a-side football competition on the campsite but, despite beating a few Scout teams, got knocked out on penalties in the semi-finals.
